2023 Nimbin Country Show

With barely a week to go until the Nimbin Country Show on September 23 and 24, the volunteers at the A&I Society are excited to be holding their first show in four years.

Since the 100th show in 2019 the Showgrounds have been beset by a number of disasters that lead to the cancellation of the show three years running.

A&I Society vice-president and volunteers’ supervisor Dan Lansdowne putting the finishing touches to the main ring in preparation for next week’s Nimbin Country Show.

Despite this we’ve still managed to act as an evacuation centre during fires and floods, and to provide camping for tourists when weather and pandemic conditions allowed.

There’s also been a fair bit of work done as a result of a Bushfire Recovery Grant awarded in 2020. Patrons and exhibitors will discover new stalls in the cattle arena, an awning added to the poultry pavilion, an enclosed equestrian stable, and a not-quite-completed building - with yet another awning – on the site of the old preschool.
