Boltons Beach (T 245) extends for 4.2 km between the southern slopes of 70 m high Beckles Hill and the northern slopes of 140 m high Rough Hill. In between the beach faces east-southeast exposing it to waves averaging just over 1 m. These maintain a low tide terrace, with conditions ranging from reflective to rips during higher waves, when up to 16 rips form along the beach. A low narrow foredune backs the beach, breached in the centre by a usually blocked creek, and in the south by the small mouth of Hermitage Lagoon. A cluster of shallow reefs is located just north of the lagoon entrance. The road terminates at the northern side of the lagoon, where there is a car park but no facilities.
