Itinerary

Start your day being greeted by your friendly guide at your hotel or prearranged pickup location within Adelaide. Your guide will ensure that your experience with us is as relaxing and enjoyable as possible and if you have any special requests on the day, please make sure to let them know. As our guides are passionate locals, they are more than happy to give additional advice on other attractions or places to visit during your stay in Adelaide.

Mount Lofty Summit & Lookout.

Travel into the Adelaide Hills and arrive at Mount Lofty, the highest peak of the Mount Lofty Ranges at over 710 metres. Visit the gift shop to buy a souvenir or two and inspect some of the local history displays on show. Enjoy the wonderful panoramic views across the Adelaide City skyline to the coast, which once you have experienced, will let you appreciate just how Matthew Flinders could first sight Mount Lofty over the great distance from Kangaroo Island in 1802.

Goldings Wines

Travel through the Onkaparinga Valley to arrive at Goldings Wines on the outskirts of Lobethal.

Darren and Lucy Golding established Golding Wines and put their first vintage to bottle in 2002 using fruit sourced from the family vineyard Darren had planted with his parents Greg and Connie, seven years earlier.

Today their now expanded Western Branch Vineyard, located in the Lenswood appellation of the Adelaide Hills remains at the very heart of their business. It is the exclusive fruit source for the Golding Wines range, and the home of their busy cellar door and functions centre which is always popular with Adelaide and Hills locals looking for an enjoyable day out.

Melbas Chocolate

Melba’s Chocolates started in 1981 in a small wash house behind the Adelaide restaurant, ‘Melba’s’. By 1990 the had moved to much larger premises within the historic Woodside Farmers Union Factory site where they continued to increase production due the great demand and popularity of their iconic SA products such as Traffic Lights, Inch Licorice and an assortment of chocolate and confectionery sweets.

Today you will get the opportunity to browse their factor shop and purchase some of their products whilst enjoying the display of antiques and collectables.

Woodside Cheese Wrights

Within the Woodside Heritage Park and neighbouring to Melba's Chocolates, you will discover Woodside Cheese Wrights, the home to Kris Lloyd Artisan. Kris is a self taught Cheese Maker who has headed up Woodside Cheese Wrights for over 20 years. While her career as a cheese maker may have started as an accident, Kris is now completely passionate about all things cheese, food, wine and the Cheese Making Industry in Australia.

Enjoy a visit to Woodside Cheese and perhaps partake in a cheese tasting of some of her award winning and internationally regarded cheese and produce.

Artwine

Artwine is the rosé-cheeked love child of Judy and Glen Kelly , two live-in-the-moment lovers of Mediterranean style wines when in 2008 they established the Artwine brand, focusing on the Mediterranean varieties they both adored.

With a great belief these ‘old world’ wines are the ‘emerging’ future of wine in Australia, being food-friendly, lighter in style, and having a complexity of flavour that will awaken even the most seasoned palates, they decided to plant, grow and produce their own wines. This was made possible by the wine varieties ideal growing conditions being mirrored within the Adelaide Hills and the Clare Valley, meaning they not only thrive here, but can be sustainably grown, lessening the impact on their land.

Today enjoy a taste with in the picturesque Artwine cellar door full of local Art pieces and  over looking the rolling Adelaide Hills, the Onkaparinga Valley and Mount Lofty summit

Hahndorf Township

Hahndorf was settled by German farmers who were escaping religious persecution from their homeland in the late 1830's. They found rich, fertile soils and enjoyed great prosperity, not only at Hahndorf but right throughout different parts of South Australia including the Barossa Valley.

Today this quaint German village is home to a great number of Artisan shops and historic buildings housing cellar doors, a brewery,  butchers, bakers and candlestick makers, art galleries and studios, a cheese maker, leathersmith, jeweller, sweet shops, German-style pubs, restaurants and cafés.

Enjoy free time to explore the wonders of Hahndorf and stop off at one of the many cafes or restaurants for lunch.

Continue exploring and tasting in the region

After your time in Hahndorf, continue touring the region visiting at least another one winery for tasting, two wineries if time permits. We prefer that you enjoy your tasting experiences than to be rushed through making the whole experience stressful and less relaxing.

Some of the wineries we will visit are Nepenthe, Hahndorf Hill, The Lane and Sidewood Estate just to name a few.

Travel back to Adelaide

After a day of sightseeing and wine tasting, enjoy your tour out of the Adelaide Hills whilst going Koala spotting on some of the back roads, before travelling through the South Eastern suburbs of  Adelaide arriving back in Adelaide by 5.15 pm.
