North-west Tasmania’s premier, maritime museum, Bass Strait Maritime Centre is nestled by the sea in parklands in 5 minutes from the punilarpanner country/Devonport city centre.

Set in Devonport’s original Harbour Master’s residence, c1920, our museum explores the histories and stories of Devonport, Bass Strait, and its islands, through engaging displays, models, and exhibitions, and features one of Australia’s best collections of model ships.

• Ticket price includes entry to our famous shipping simulator, where you’ll enjoy a hands-on experience of captaining a ship through Bass Strait.
