There’s nothing contentious about our hospitality. With friendly local service, our kitchen offers a warm welcome all year round. From epic lunches to Friday night specials, our Chef makes sure the food served in our kitchen is every bit as interesting as the wines behind our cellar door.

Pavilions & Grazing Boards

11am to 5pm, Thursday to Monday

Celebrate your special occasion amongst the vines and garden in one of our two pavilions with a casual atmosphere.

Choose from our delicious range of Grazing Boards, starting at $40pp.

Please note wine tastings, a la carte, and the Seasonal Tasting menu are not available in the Pavilions. 

Each pavilion is for between 4 to 10 guests. You can book two if you wish. If the weather turns out to be less than ideal we will provide heaters and rugs or do our best to move you inside.

Wine Tastings

You won’t find any better for a Canberra wine tasting. There’s a Contentious Character wine to suit everyone.
Contentious Character vintages commenced in 2015 and are a cool-climate, new world twist on old world styles.
We offer 3 tasting experiences, and you can add matched food elements to each. Tastings are held at our special 7-metre tasting bar in our restaurant.
