A trip inside the Narrabri Region Visitor Information Centre is an experience in itself. The Centre is brimming with fascinating information, delicious local and regional produce, and displays that will impress and captivate you. Here you can learn about the district’s best attractions, discover local history and read about regional farming practices. The highlight is a cotton display, which boasts a genuine giant red cotton picker that guests can climb into and “operate”.
Among the local and regional produce inside are Nelson’s Honey, Tall Poppy Gourmet relishes and dressings, Rosie’s Honey Mustard Dressing, Eden Valley Olives, Murrungundy Pistachios, Pally Pecans and the Centre’s own product; Cottonseed Oil.
You will also find a fantastic selection of souvenirs to remind you of your time in the region, with magnets and stickers, coffee mugs, caps and beautiful hessian bags. We also have a stylish range of Linen Press tea towels, aprons, tote bags, oven mitts and more in various themes. For the little ones, you will find a bounty of soft toys and other fun souvenirs.
The Narrabri Region Visitor Information Centre is located in the former Australian Cotton Centre. The friendly and knowledgeable staff are eager to help you plan your stay in the Region. From 1986 to 2012, the Centre was housed next door in Panton Cottage, a distinctive little building constructed from locally sourced cypress pine and named after the late Ross Panton OAM. Mr Panton headed a team of volunteers that constructed the building to meet the Shire’s need for a visitor information centre.
The Narrabri Region Visitor Information Centre is conveniently located on Tibbereena Street (Newell Highway) in Narrabri. The large grey building is easily identified by the giant yellow "i".
