Wangi Falls

A large plunge pool with shady grassed areas

Wangi Falls is one of the most popular swimming holes in Litchfield National Park. The falls flow all year round.

The swimming hole is a short accessible walk from the carpark.

A large green grassy picnic area with tables is located next to the carpark.

There are limited gas barbeques available for use.

Wangi Falls Cafe has outdoor undercover seating for customers. The cafe serves a range of hot and cold food.

An emergency call device (ECD) can be found near the carpark in the event of an emergency.

This park requires visitors to the NT to have a parks pass.

Swimming

Wangi is a large, deep water pool.

You can swim right up to the falls.

It's the most accessible swimming hole in Litchfield.

The path is paved from the carpark to the swimming hole.

There is a handrail leading into the water with a few downwards steps. The water becomes deep quickly.

It is not safe to swim at the top of the falls.

Going beyond the guided path can put your life at risk.

Camping

Wangi Falls is rated as a category A campground and offers more facilities than other sites in the park.

The Wangi Campground is drive in access. It's accessible to all vehicle types including caravans.

There are accessible toilets and change tables as well as showering facilities.

The campground host site  is open during peak season (May to  September).

The walk takes you to a viewing platform at the base of the falls, through a monsoon forest and up stairs to the escarpment.

Swimming is not allowed above the falls.
