General BYO Drinks Information
BYO Drinks: ** Note BYO is not available for groups over 50**Due to the size of groups on Karisma we require drinks to be loaded prior to the cruise (arrangemetns can be made for less than 30 guests). This will also ensure everything is ready for service on your arrival.
Price includes use of 2 large eskies on board.
Beverages will be served and monitored by RSA certified staff members on board.
RSA laws will still be enforced to align with our Liquor License including a strict no shots policy.
Supplies should be delivered to the boat at a pre-determined time before the charter begins. NO INDIVIDUAL DRINKS please
Due to stricter licensing laws at Darling Harbour, it is not possible to remove any left over alcohol from the boat at King St Wharf - it can be organised to be left on the wharf of vessels mooring for collection by the charterer the next day or the Monday following the weekend (at discretion of the operator on the day).

All cutlery, crockery, cups on BYO charters to be provided by you OR the venue can provide at an additional cost of $250. High grade polycarbonate glasswear. Silver cutlery & white plates
Substantial catering must be brought on board to adhere to liquor licensing laws whilst alcohol is being consumed (minimum 300gm of food per person).
***All food must be pre-prepared or platter styles.We can keep foods warm in the ovens if required. If you require kitchen use please let us know 2 weeks before your cruise your food plans so we can plan accordingly****

What happens in poor weather?
The majority of cruises go ahead in all conditions. There is plenty of indoor space and cover on Karisma. The rain does not allow for a cancellation. If conditions become dangerous the skipper will be notified by Marine services and you will be provided options to postpone. The skipper will notify you with as much time as possible to prevent inconvenience to you and your other guests

Are there any additional limitations on guest numbers or dates permitted for BYO charters?
Max 50 guests for BYO cruises. NO BYO charters Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays in Dec. No BBQ use for BYO charters.

Are plates, glasses / cups, cutlery included?
For catered bookings YES.
If you BYO food or beverages, you will need to supply these disposable items . Otherwise you can purchase our Amenities Package which is $250 and includes those items.

Are BYO spirits allowed?
For responsible adults spirits can be brought on board with prior arrangement. There is a NO SHOT policy

Is ice provided onboard?
For BYO cruises ice is not provided.

Is there a BBQ onboard?
Only for food packages not for BYO use

Is drinking water included?
Yes tap water is available

What cool storage is there onboard?
If client BYO beverages on board at their boarding wharf, we stock the top deck bar with their beverages and ice in the insulated buckets in the bar.
We stock the rest in our cool room (pending space) and move up to the bar as needed.
If they organise to have their beverages delivered in the days prior to their charter, we stock them all in the cool room the day before and move them up to the top bar on the day.

Can I dropoff supplies at the boat before the charter?
Yes. Pirrama Park wharf on Pirrama Road in Pyrmont 2009 (across from Jones Bay Wharf....approx 1hr before cruise ) Note for BYO Charters, drinks must be loaded on the boat before your charter begins.
Beverages can also be delivered approx 1 hour before pick up. 3 guests can stay onboard from there until pick up if required.
Food- Can be delivered approx 1 hour prior or brought on at the boarding wharf.
BYO DJ- can arrive approx 1 hour prior to set up his DJ equipment.**IMPORTANT PLEASE – Pirrama Park is a public park. Under no circumstances is anyone permitted to drive a vehicle through the park to the pontoon to unload. This is illegal as well as unsafe to members of the public using the park. If this occurs, you will not be permitted by crew to board the vessel and may be subject to a fine as well as termination of your charter.
BYO Stylist - $100 if he/she requires pre-access for an hour to 1.5 hrs prior to cruise.

Does the boat provide napkins/serviettes?
This is a consumable so we recommend bringing your own for BYO Charters.

Are glass bottles allowed onboard or just cans?
Glass bottles are allowed but consider bringing cans since they are lighter and safer since they won't smash.

Can we bring a baby? Is there an age limit? Are they counted as guests?
Yes babies are allowed onboard - there is no age limit. Yes, kids of all ages are included in your guest count.
If you have young kids coming, please let us know in advance.

What is the bond for?
The bond is taken incase there are damages caused by your group during your charter.
The no.1 cause for bond claims is broken toilets so please tell your guests not to flush things like wipes or tampons down the toilets - just a small amount of toilet paper is Ok.
Vomiting around the boat will incur fees. Don't bring Sparklers, confetti balloons, glitter (candles by request only) as they will stain the boat.

Yes.

* Aqua pack- Includes lily pad, floating dock and island raft: $350 (save $100)
Spa -$250
NOTE - 1 hour of use is guaranteed for all aqua activities/equipment on 4 hour charters and 2 hours guaranteed use for 5 hour charters. The spa cannot be utilized for charters over 48 guests or if conditions are too rough due to a licensing requirement with relation to weight.

Smoking - is it permitted and are there any restrictions?
Yes, smoking/vaping is permitted at the back of the boat. Ashtrays are provided.

Is there a sound system and what connectivity is there?
Yes. Client can connect their device for a playlist to be connected to Bluetooth which is then played throughout the sound system on all 3 areas on board. There is a microphone but its not wireless. We also have Giant LED Bluetooth Floor Speaker for $200.
No Wi-Fi available.

Is swimming allowed?
Swimming is permitted from Karisma (at the captains discretion) via the rear steps only.

Can we have a DJ?
BYO DJ $100 fee. Or you can hire our inhouse DJ with lighting at $180 per hour (minimum 4)

Footwear - are there any restrictions?
No high heels - wedges are Ok
+
Where can we pickup and dropoff?
We have a number of wharfs around the Harbour....Please ask our staff for full details. Wharfs outside the inner City area such as Rose Bay, Double Bay, Mosman and any Middle Harbour & Manly Wharves incur additional travel fees of $175 each way.

Are there any additional rules that apply to specific events (eg 21st Birthdays)?
Strict rules apply for under 18s on board for any event. Under 18s must have parent/guardians on board. For 18th - 21st Birthdays - IDs will be checked upon boarding and no underage persons allowed. BUCKS only for daytime cruises. No departures after 5pm

Any other rules the organisers and guests should know?
BYO Drinks - Please note drinks are served by staff at the bar. Individual drinks can not be accommodated specifically. We take all drinks and what is open or available is served so they do become mixed. BYO Stylist surcharge $100
For BYO charters – a return collection fee of $250 for groups that want to leave items behind and organise to collect them another day post-charter

Covid - If Government restrictions prevent the boat owner from delivering your charter initially booked for, then your charter can be postponed to another available date within 6 months (conditions apply).
Unfortunately refunds are not available for any Covid related cancellations.
If you cancel your charter for any Covid related reason you will not be entitled to a refund or postponement.

Date Changes/Cancellations - your deposit is used to secure your booking with the boat owner so this can only be refunded (minus an admin fee) if we are able to find another person to replace your booking and if sufficient notice is given.
Weather - Cruises go ahead in wet weather on all boats that have shelter for all guests - your charter would only be cancelled if the skipper deemed the conditions unsafe. View some weather FAQs
