I loved the little extras like pods for the coffee machine, milk, and the bottle of wine waiting for us when we arrived. The kitchen and bathroom had everything we needed. The luxurious bath towels were fantastic. The building was made of beautiful thick stone walls and this kept it cool inside when it was very hot outside. Our two dogs loved the fully fenced yard and large garden to explore. I appreciated the host having a vacuum cleaner accessible so that I could do spot vacuuming of the bits of dried grass that came in on the dogs' paws.

We love the old building, the quirky nature of the layout, its Cornish (?) roots. The modern touches didn't take away from this. The kitchen was well supplied with appliances (enjoyed the pod coffee - thank you) and gear to cook with. Access to a laundry on site was wonderful. The bathroom was spacious and well designed. The only drawback was the slow drains, but signage warned us, and we managed just fine The beds were comfy, all had electric blankets, and there were plenty of heating options in the house. We loved having wood fires. Burra is a lovely little town, and we recommend the Burra Hotel for a great pub meal.

Very old place but atmospheric as most of Burra’s accommodation places are, but to have our small dog with us is our prime concern. All was very acceptable including the bottle of complimentary wine. However, there is only seating for 3 people in the lounge and as we have adult relations who visited after a hotel dinner, we needed more seating. Also, the other bedrooms were locked which was quite unusual. On some occasions I need to sleep separately from my restless husband and I would not have been able to. Some friends were unable to obtain any accommodation in Burra for our midweek sojourn due to a film being made locally and they would have gladly paid for the extra accommodation. Lighting for makeup was poor but generally the house was okay and suited our needs. We were only there at night and it’s lovely and quiet and dark. We have stayed in other similar places in Burra and as with them, we enjoyed our time.

Everything was amazing. Heritage, old country feel. Was supposed to be just for my partener and i but we decided to take my mum. She had a wonderful time. It did her good. Glad we took her. Just what she needed. Would stay there again for sure. Garden was beautiful.
