Welcome to Forest Farm

Forest Farm is located on the land of the Nyangbal People of the Bundjalung Nation at Tintenbar, in the Ballina Shire Council region of Northern NSW.
​
Family owned and operated, Forest Farm was originally acquired as a 110ha grazing property in 2016, with a harvestable forestry plantation consisting of stands of Flooded Gum, Blackbutt and Hoop Pine.
​
The property also contains a number of diverse, remnant ecosystems including riparian zones, forested wetlands and subtropical rainforest.
​
These ecosystems are being improved by the strategic removal of cattle from riparian and wetland zones, weed control, planting and assisted regeneration.
​
Moving forward, we aim to enhance and showcase Forest Farm's existing natural beauty and to create a high-quality natural environment that offers a haven for diverse native flora and fauna; enabled through successfully restored and resilient vegetation ecosystems.

Creating High Conservation Value
We are working hard to create a place with high integrity conservation value. We are revegetating and restoring diverse and beautiful native vegetation communities in order to create valuable homes for native fauna.
Protecting carbon in the forests
An existing forestry plantation at Forest Farm has been registered as a carbon project under the Emissions Reduction Fund. This enables us to maintain and enhance an important existing wildlife habitat (koala food species) and ensures this carbon remains in the landscape for 100 years and the timber plantation is converted to a diverse native forest. ​
Creating high quality koala habitat
We are monitoring and tracking our positive impact on koala population and habitat condition using the Accounting for Nature (AfN) framework.
Forest Farm is home to ...
Many diverse species of birds, mammals, insects, frogs, fish and other aquatics. This includes threatened and near threatened species, including koalas, five bird species, the birdwing butterfly, and even a frog species.
