Greenmount Beach is a north facing beach, sheltered by a rocky headland, creating an idyllic spot for swimming.
Swimming
Greenmount has one patrolled lifeguard tower:
- Marine Parade, in front of Greenmount Beach Surf Club (corner Hill Street)
Patrolled between 8am and 5pm, every day all year round
Make sure you swim in the patrolled area between the red and yellow flags.
Surfing
Greenmount Beach is part of the World Surfing Reserve and is a popular location for surfers. Greenmount is a slower paced section of the famed southern point break and is better suited to beginner and intermediate boardriders. Surfers should always assess conditions. About Greenmount Beach
Greenmount Point is a coastal headland which separates Rainbow Bay to the south and Coolangatta Beach to the north. Greenmount Beach is the name of the southeastern end of Coolangatta Beach, adjacent to the headland. Enjoy a walk around the headland and catch a glimpse of dolphins and migrating whales on a sunny winter's day.
This popular destination offers a wide, sheltered beach and a laid-back lifestyle in comparison to the bustling centre of the Gold Coast.
Greenmount Beach is surrounded by parklands that contain toilets, barbecues, tables, shade structures and beach showers. The oceanway also runs next to the beach and all the way around the headland.
