🚨 TEAMS ARE IN! 🚨

The footy season officially kicks off this weekend, with the Goulburn sides playing home and away.

At home, our Women’s team will be taking on the Bungendore Mudchicks. The planned trial match for these teams the other week was cancelled due to weather, so both sides will be looking to rip in. Kick off at 12.30pm.

Travelling to Phillip, our Men’s teams will be taking on Royals. Second grade will open proceedings at 10.50am, followed by Firsts at 12.15pm.

Go well, everyone!

📢 It's trial game time! (Take two...) 📢

Following last week's wash out, we're going again when we host our friends from @bungendore_rugby_union this Saturday in the first annual Dirty Red Chook Trophy (huge thanks to Corbie Yeo for creating the new trophy!).

The day will see a combined Goulburn First and Second grades side playing last year’s second division semi-finalists, the Bungendore Mudchooks. This should be a tough match and will give both teams a great tune up before the season begins. It will also give Goulburn coach John Maxwell a chance to give his whole squad a run.

Kick off is at 2.30pm, with bar and limited canteen running.

Our Women's team won't be playing tomorrow, but will open their season with a match against the Mudchicks next week at home.

📢 It's trial game time! 📢

It’s a big day at Goulburn Rugby Park tomorrow, when we host our friends from Bungendore in two trial matches, in what we hope will become an annual trial fixture for the Dirty Red Chook Cup (official name pending).

Kicking things off will be our Women’s team taking on the Bungendore Mudchicks. These sides have built up an excellent friendly rivalry over the years, and tomorrow will be a great chance for the teams to reignite this (and then celebrate off the field). The women’s game will kick off at 1pm, and will comprise four 15-minute quarters, which is the new format for the ACT Women’s 10s competition.

Following this will be a combined Goulburn First and Second grades side, playing last year’s second division semi-finalists, the Bungendore Mudchooks. This should be a tough match and will give both teams a great tune up before the season begins. It will also give Goulburn coach John Maxwell a chance to give his whole squad a run.

The winner of the Dirty Red Chook Cup will be decided by:
• Winner of men’s game (25 points)
• Winner of women’s game (25 points)
• Winner of men’s boat race (25 points)
• Winner of women’s boat race (25 points)

Gates open at 11.30am, with canteen and bar running all day.

If anything changes due to the forecast wet weather, we will let you know.
