Hodge Lodge NSW Sunrise Hut
Fabulous cabin, very comfortable & amazingly stocked kitchen. Huge grassy area for my pooch to play & really lovely hosts who were very understanding & accommodating of my young pup who is still learning his manners. I was disappointed that I had to cut my stay short as my son, who wasn’t with me on this trip, had an accident & broke his collarbone.
I really struggled to relax with the highway noise though, which was only about 100 meters away. The trucks roaring through didn’t stop all night long & even with the very considerately provided ear plugs, I had a rough nights sleep. I’m from a pretty peaceful regional area though so maybe those used to traffic noise might not be as bothered as me.

When the host offers ear plugs on arrival that isn’t a good sign
Highway noise was extreme
Could have just parked in a truck rest stop instead and saved &40

Peter and Nadine were a lovely couple, very friendly and helpful. The land was lush and even know we were close to the highway we still felt the nature vibes. Our dogs had plenty of room to run, and the kiddies loved it! The trains passing were fun for them too and we barely noticed the noise. It was close enough to a town.
We stay for 4 nights and think it’s a great little spot we’d recommend it

Hodge Lodge Glamping Cabin
The cabin is beautifully built with luxurious finishes, wasn't expecting that, so was pleasantly surprised by all the creature comforts. The property has plenty of space for kids and pets to run and play. If traffic noise bothers you then this may not be the location for you as the cabin is close to the highway, but it didn't bother us at all. It was also the Easter long weekend so there would have been more traffic than normal. There was the odd train passing through on the opposite side of the property to the cabin, again the noise wasn't a bother but it may be to some people. Others especially with kids will probably love seeing the trains come past. There are ear plugs in the cabin if you need them to block out the noise at night, but we didn't need to use them as it is pretty quiet inside if you shut the windows at night. I do suggest bringing dry kindling with you or finding some around the property on the first day as there is a lot of dew fall during the night so keep it under cover to dry out. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend the property to others.

Easy rider
Loved everything about Hodge Lodge. Easy check in, friendly host, power available and the place all to ourselves (and the dogs loved the space to run and explore). Added bonus was the wildlife on the water/ lake on the property. For transparency: yes you can hear both the road and the train, but it didn’t both us at all.
