FAQ's

What to bring?
Don’t forget to bring goggles, towel, helmet, bike, shoes, socks and shorts and most importantly a drink bottle full of water to keep them hydrated.

What will I receive?
Every participant will receive an IRONKIDS event bib, t-shirt, random draw prize entry, recovery food and finishers medal!

How are IRONKIDS identified on course?
All IRONKIDS participants will have an IRONKIDS event bib to safety pin on the front of their t-shirt.

What happens on the day?

IRONKIDS are to Check-In (with a parent/guardian) on Race day between 7:00-8:00am Saturday 21 September at SIRC.

IRONKIDSs and adult/guardian are to go to Transition with their Helmets & Bike, Shoes & Socks, IRONKIDS T-shirt & Event Bib and water bottle for a visual safety check by the Technical Officials (Referee’s) and racked within their assigned age group rows.

IRONMAN Staff, Technical Officials and Volunteers are available to explain how transition works and will be in transition and around the course during the event to assist the IRONKIDS wherever required.

On exit of Transition, all IRONKIDS will receive their “body marking (number)” on their right forearm – this is compulsory for safety reasons and to assist with identifying everybody participating in the event.

Next IRONKID’s participants are to head to the startline for their fun warmup and briefing at 08:20.

Post warm up and briefing, IRONMAN staff will call an age group and gender one at a time into the Start Pen. IRONKIDS will be let off in groups of approximately 6 at a time onto the course.

Post-event parents and guardian must meet their child at the finish line exit after recovery, as they won’t be allowed to wander out of the finish area otherwise.  Random Draw Prizes will be presented directly after the last finisher.

All participants will be able to collect their personal items out of transition once the last bike is back from the course. The Transition area will only be open post last bike into Transition so please endeavour to collect your items as soon as possible.

Where do I need to be on the day?

  • Sydney International Regatta Centre

The most important thing to remember?
Have fun!

What happens if I withdraw?
Just let a member of our IRONMAN team know so we can account for everybody. For this event, there are no refunds, transfers or deferrals available.

Calling all Parents

We would LOVE your help and assistance with IRONKIDS check-in and Marshal locations for Saturday 21 September 2024. It’s a great opportunity to watch your kids having the best time of their life whilst giving back to your local community.

Parents are encouraged to assist the IRONKIDS pre-event with check-in, bike racking and numbering at the Transition area. You can then escort them down to the start for the warm-up

Post-event and presentations at the Finish Line we also require parents to assist in collecting all the children’s belongings from transition as soon as possible so we can reset the area for IRONMAN 70.3 bike racking at 10am.

IRONKIDS Transition will close and be reset at 9:15am. We appreciate your support.
