The Festival is a week-long celebration of women and sport, tied together by five themes:

• Empowerment
• Advocacy
• Athletic Excellence
• Community and wellbeing
• Professional development of Women in Sports Administration

The Festival is designed to:

• Celebrate the athletic excellence of local and national professional, and amateur sportswomen.
• Increase awareness of the health and social benefits of taking up sport and/or exercise.
• Encourage more women and girls remain active throughout their different life stages
• Provide local sporting groups, organisations and businesses increased exposure and the opportunity to boost their membership/customer base.
• Educate all members of the community about impact sport can have for women in regard to empowerment, confidence, and its impact on their personal and professional lives.
• Establish and support the Women Sports Administrator pipeline to foster and encourage today's female talent into the leading sports Administrators of tomorrow.
