TESTIMONIALS

Dear Heather,

Just a little note to say a BIG THANK YOU for the amazing few days spent in your beautiful cabin!

What a gorgeous, peaceful place to rest and recharge the batteries far away from the business of our everyday lives.

The cabins were so comfortable with everything needed to feel at home and to be able to prepare meals.

We especially loved being able to sit out on the deck for breakfast and watch the birds on the river and the night time views of the stars were glorious!

I would highly recommend coming to experience the true outback at your beautiful piece of heaven on earth (in fact I have done so already to many friends).

We will definitely return!

Warm wishes Elizabeth and Alan Wood

Recently we had the opportunity to stay at Lower Lila retreat.  This is an absolute hidden gem with modern two-bedroom cabins right on the banks of the Warrego surrounded by glorious views, which you can enjoy from the balcony.  A relaxing few days with no need to travel, everything is right there, water activities on the door step, BBQ’s, camp oven facilities, beautiful wildlife – great array of bird life and a wonderful host, Heather, catering for all your needs.  If you’re an active person there is endless walking, farm tours with Popeye, animal feeding with Zoe and you can head to the historic Fords Bridge for extra adventurers.  The location is perfect if you would like to explore the outback as the road going past the front door leads to many outback travel options. I highly recommend some time with Heather, Popeye, Zoe and Jesse in their piece of paradise.

Ten years ago, was the first time I saw the farm and met Heather. I arrived directly from France after a twenty-three-hour flight from Paris. It was a shock to discover such wild and preserved nature. I immediately loved the red dirt and felt at home.

I travelled back sometimes over the years and got to know this place.
I enjoyed walking along the roads with no traffic at all. Every morning I went to the river to meditate with just the song of the birds. I loved to see a heron flying quietly. It is a connection to nature and simplicity.

I enjoyed BBQ under the stars, swimming in the river, catching "yabbies’’, having a glass of wine on the terrasse of the cabin newly installed. Everything is perfect for a very nice stay.

I recommend this place to experience the "bush life" and for the warm welcome. Heather and Popeye love to invite you in the farm and share the joy they have to live in such a place. They raise animals with respect: lambs, sheep, goats, pigs, cows and chook. The food is good and Heather such a great cook. Zoe, Heather's daughter will show you how to take care of the lambs. Moreover, she cooks delicious cakes.

After many years I feel really home at Lower Lila retreat. Like a taste of paradise.
