The Property

Amble’a’While on Tamar is a spacious (35sqm) self-contained studio apartment adjoining our home, with your own secure private entry. There are no shared or common areas in the apartment.

Enjoy a great nights sleep in the luxurious king size bed which can be converted to twin beds if you require (please let us know when you book). Quality linen is provided, along with electric blankets and super comfy pillows. A generous built-in wardrobe is all yours, with good hanging space and drawers.

A reverse-cycle air-conditioner/heater will keep you comfortable in all seasons.

There is a well-equipped kitchenette with modern 2-burner induction cooktop, fridge-freezer, microwave, toaster, electric kettle and Nespresso coffee machine. All the basics you need to enjoy your stay are on hand (coffee pods, instant coffee, tea, sugar, salt & pepper etc) and of course plenty of crockery, cooking utensils etc. Trust us, we’ve stayed in plenty of accommodation over the years and know how frustrating it is trying to slice cheese with a wooden spoon or drink that lovely bottle of wine you purchased out of the single plastic cup supplied! Continental Breakfast provisions are supplied for you to enjoy at your leisure.

The lounge/dining area is well equipped with a comfortable 3 seater couch and a large screen TV with plenty of input options if you want to avail yourselves of more than Free-to-Air TV (Google Cast available) or use the DVD player and choose from our large DVD selection. A good size dining table will ensure you can enjoy a comfortable meal.

You have your very own private ensuite with toilet, shower, hand basin and of course all the towels and guest amenities you should expect. Also in the ensuite there is a laundry sink and a front loading washing machine for your sole use (washing powder etc. also supplied). There is a clothes horse, or feel free to use the outside clothesline. If you need, there is a clothes dryer available on request.

The apartment has its own private entrance, from your very own deck complete with outdoor table and chairs (and a sprinkling of herbs growing there too you may notice), The perfect place to sit and unwind at the end of the day or make plans for the day ahead. Deck/entrance is adjacent to your parking bay. From the deck you have sweeping views over the property and adjacent vineyard.

You are welcome to wander the grounds, or use the BBQ and outdoor eating area.

We have numerous fruit trees growing, including: apples, pears, apricots, mulberries and plums. Over time we are establishing our ‘edible garden’ and you will be most welcome to sample our produce as available.

Guest access

Amble’a’While on Tamar offers you a secure and very private space to relax. The apartment is fully self-contained. You are free to explore the grounds, use the BBQ and outdoor eating area, relax under a tree or sit on one of the many outdoor seats around the grounds. Obviously our home is private as are the many out buildings.

Interaction with guests

Amble’a’While on Tamar is a private space and our desire is to leave guests to enjoy the experience without our intervention. That said we are more than happy to offer suggestions from our local experience. We would be very glad to help you in any way we can to make your stay with us and in Tasmania an enjoyable one.

The kitchenette is well appointed and ready for you to enjoy the supplied breakfast items, and make simple tasty and nutritious meals if you so choose. If there are any specific pantry items you would like us to have on hand for you just ask and we will do our best to oblige, either from our own pantry or sourced locally for you (subject to availability, nominal additional charges may apply).
