Four Day Week is here

Pork and Pears

Mushrooms and Walnuts

Autumn

Love

It's April - and in Bundanoon that's Brigadoon! Held on the first Saturday in April, Brigadoon is a celebration of all things Scottish but also a great time to see the village as the leaves change, the nights cool and all people feel the need to wear a kilt.

Figs are still around, but we're moving on to pears and pork this month. They're a great pairing (pardon tne pun) and bring their own variety to the menu.

We're bringing a house-made porchetta with a pear chutney, pear and fennel pizza (our staff have been begging for this one to come back), our favourite pork and goat cheese polpette from Calabria, roast pears and onions with gorgonzola gratin and some delicious red-wine poached pears to finish

Mushrooms are still on song and we can't quite walk away from the delicious dishes we've perfected over the past month or so.

We still have porcini, portobello, cremini, oyster, shiitake, champignon and more in the kitchen turning into beautiful roast mushroom bruschettas, creamy risottos (perfect for a cooler evening), to-die-for pizza and deliciously simple pastas.

Check out our current specials to feast your eyes and set your tummy rumbling below and we'll see you soon.

An don't forget! We're open Thursday to Sunday from now on.

It's never easy to adjust a business to meet the times. When we added an extra day to our service it was a risk as we staffed up and prepared for more prep work, but Bundanoon embraced it and we had staff and resources to manage.

The times have changed again - in some cases, quite dramatically, and we are looking to adjust once more.

Our business is for sale through MMJ Brokers in Wollongong and it is for sale because of health issues. To manage those health issues we are reducing our trading days, opening Thursday to Sunday each week from February 2024.

We are sure there will be some adverse feedback on this decision, but Wednesday is no longer a good idea for this business at this time.

Staff are increasingly difficult to find in this low-unemployment period so rather than risk our service standards or burn ourselves out, we are taking a measured decision to reduce our trade by one day.

This is not forever.

We are likely to add Wednesdays during holiday periods when demand is high and the town is full of visitors.

Meanwhile, we'll be here Thursday to Sunday each week as usual.
