Learn to swim

Gold Coast Aquatic Centre offers classes for children from 3 months old through to adult swimmers.
Enrol your child in swimming lessons and receive the first lesson free. Enrolled children can swim anytime for free!

Fitness centre

Our modern gym and functional areas feature an extensive range of resistance machines and free weight equipment. Enjoy access to over 55 group fitness classes each week, as well as amazing pool and aquatic facilities. Pool only or all-access memberships available.

Opening hours

Gold Coast Aquatic Centre (GCAC) and fitness centre is located in the Gold Coast's stunning Broadwater Parklands.

Opening hours are as follows:

  • Monday to Friday, 5am to 8pm
  • Saturday, 6am to 5pm
  • Sunday, 7am to 4pm

We are open every day except Good Friday, ANZAC Day and Christmas Day.

Upcoming public holiday opening hours

Thursday 25 April, ANZAC Day: Closed
Monday 6 May, Labour Day: 7am to 4pm – no learn to swim or group fitness classes

Please note that Gold Coast Aquatic Centre does not accept cash. Payment can be made by debit card, Mastercard or Visa.

Features and facilities

GCAC has world-class facilities swimming, diving and fitness facilities. The Centre continues to host regular local, national and international elite sporting competitions. It's also available for school swimming carnivals and other aquatic competitions such as water polo and underwater hockey.

There's a kiosk, plus modern, versatile meeting rooms and open-air event spaces with views of our world-class pools available for hire.

All outdoor pools at the GCAC are heated to 28 degrees Celsius and can be adjusted according to particular events or requirements.

Indoor pool public hours

The indoor warm water pool is available for public use at the following times:

Public access to pools may be restricted at times due to events or bookings. Contact the centre directly if you have any questions around public access.

Our centre is home of diving on the Gold Coast and offers quality coaching for beginners right through to elite athletes.

Squad, swimming & diving clubs

Squad

A comprehensive junior, senior through to adult squad program is available at Gold Coast Aquatic Centre. Programs are suitable for all abilities and cater for general fitness right through to competitive pool, surf and triathlon swimming.

The squad program is delivered by BE Swim Coaching.

Southport Olympic Swim Club

Southport Olympic Swim Club (SOSC) has a long history of coaching some of Australia's best known swimmers.

SOSC caters for all swimming levels from juniors, state, national age group and Australian Open and international competitors.

Paradise Dive Club

Paradise Diving Club has been established at Gold Coast Aquatic Centre since 1998. PDC offers weekly dive lessons, school holiday learn to dive clinics, school sport programs and competition development.

We work to ensure that all people can participate in activities at the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre (GCAC) in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Accessible and inclusive features at GCAC include:

  • accessible pool hoist / chairlift access all pools operated by fully trained staff

  • lift access to level one function rooms, event seating and the fitness centre
  • floatation belts and other devices
  • staff trained as Teachers of Aquatics – Access and Inclusion (TAI).

Function room hire

Gold Coast Aquatic Centre offers modern, versatile meeting rooms and open-air event spaces with views of our world-class pools and stunning Broadwater.

Parking

Metered parking is available at the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre and in the local Broadwater area. For more information visit our Broadwater carpark page.

Limited free parking is available at the centre for certain ongoing membership or enrolment types and is conditional on that membership or enrolment being paid and up to date.

Limited free parking is available for:

  • learn to swim enrolments on an ongoing direct debit.
  • squad enrolments on an ongoing direct debit
  • pool only memberships – 12 and 6 months only
  • fitness centre memberships – 12 and 6 months only
  • fitness centre 25-visit pass.

Public access to pools may be restricted at times due to school swimming carnivals and other aquatic events booked at the centre. See the Upcoming events section above for details. While we do our best to update members and visitors or any events at the centre, there may be last minute changes to programs. Contact the centre direct if you have any questions around public access.
