“This place rocks. If you have never done pottery before, get your lady (Or man) crew together. Great company, awesome location. Spend a couple of hours in the therapy of manipulating clay with friends and learn some tips along the way. Then fingers crossed your brilliant creations survive the kiln 🤣😍👌 A great casual day away from the kids.” Leigh T.

Come by yourself, bring a friend or organise a private workshop for your group - big or small.

"The workshop was great as it was intimate and fun and you get really hands on. I have never done anything like this before and as an absolute beginner it was great. Lisa put on some tasty homemade nibbles and was very generous with her time too. I also got the chance to buy some of her pieces and Bluey the cat 🐱 is awesome too. I’d do this again with a small group anytime. I highly recommend it as it was great fun and Lisa is a wonderful host." Teresa R 2022

‘What a great way to spend the morning in a beautiful setting. Lisa had thought of everything, making our own wares was a bonus. Relaxed, fun and creative’. Feb2020.

Make it Paint it Do it

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you haven’t tried pottery since primary school and your mum still has the ashtray you made.
All good! My workshops are for you. Maybe you want to have a go at painting but everyone says, ‘Really? You?’. Don’t let others define your story. Jump on board and I will show you how you can do it.

Have a look at all the different workshops you can choose from. Come by yourself, bring a friend or bring everyone. Check out the scheduled workshops and if there is no date that suits you email me and we will organise it.

About me

I moved from Brisbane Queensland in 2013 and settled near New Norfolk in the beautiful Derwent Valley. After running Stanton Bed and Breakfast for a number of years I switched to offering pottery and watercolour painting workshops in one of the outbuildings on the property. You will find my wares in shops such as Miss Bond at Salamanca in Hobart, Miss Arthur at New Norfolk, and Mr Wolf at Devonport. I have also made ceramics for the two publications - Warndu Mai cook book and First Nations Food Companion by Rebecca Sullivan and Damien Coulthard. If you stay at the gorgeous Lettes Bay shacks, Bushy Summers and Rosey Summers you will using my wares. I would love it if you would follow me on Instagram to get peeks behind the scenes and at the fun we have at workshops.

I am an informally and self taught potter and painter via workshops, short courses, online tutorials and then making all the mistakes while hopefully learning from them. I have a degree in adult education and worked in Queensland as a TAFE teacher & tutor and also in learning and development roles in a number of private enterprises and semi government businesses where I designed and delivered information sessions and courses in person and online.

It is important to me that my pottery and watercolour workshops are welcoming and inclusive. It is exciting to try something new and I like to provide a safe and friendly place for you to do that. Join one of the already planned dates by yourself or with a friend or email me to set up a private workshop for your group of up to 14 people. Read about all the different workshops I offer and then follow the links to book your place!

Here is a link to a Digital Discovery Map of the Derwent Valley and Central Highlands. It can help you find me and also some wonderful places you may like to check out, before or after your workshop.

I hope to see you soon. Cheers Lisa.

I acknowledge Tasmanian Aboriginal people as the traditional and ongoing custodians of lutruwita (Tasmania). I honour their deep cultural connection and care of these lands, skies and waterways, and pay my respects to Elders past and present. The New Norfolk area is the country of the Leenowweenne clan who belonged to the Big River nation.
