Avaye Rood (SYD) - Persian-inspired original tunes
Saturday 18 May | 1-4pm| $10-$20
Supported by Mahesh & Tapestries of Sound
The Hive Bar will be serving hot & cold drinks & food
Discover the harmonious fusion of Persian-inspired tunes by آوای رود / Avaye Rood coming to Queanbeyan this May on their South of Sydney Tour.
Formed in 2006 under the musical vision of Behzad Ansari, this ensemble has been making waves globally - from Iran, Germany, Greece, to Australia and beyond. Their music is harmonious fusion of Persian-inspired originals, seamlessly weaving together English and Persian verses inspired by Rumi. The band's name, translating to 'sound of the river,' pays homage to an ancient Iranian instrument, evoking the spirit of a lute.

Listen and learn about their latest single Majnoon.
Supporting Avaye Rood will be Sydney and Canberra based world folk band 'Mahesh & Tapestries of Sound'. Blending Indian classical, Irish folk and other eclectic music genres into a heady brew this trio will be featuring Mahesh White-Radhakrishnan (vocals), Dave Carr (banjo/lead guitar) and Andrew Purdam (cajon/accordion/dulcimer).
