The Tasmanian Honey Company

From the ancient forests and gothic meadows of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area come curated, uncompromised and unique honey. Consider for a moment the ensuing image of this place. An ancient rainforest on latitude 42 degrees south, sharing this latitude with only the south island of New Zealand and southernmost South America. This is the birthplace of our golden elixir.

Growing up on a ‘frontier back block in central Tasmania’, Tasmanian Honey Company’s founder Julian Wolfhagen was no novice when it came to living off the land. To him and his family, it wasn’t an alternative, political statement – it was instead, a fact of life. Fast forward to 1978 and Julian created the company, to share with the world the tonic that is Leatherwood Honey.
